Jugsalai is a township adjacent to Tatanagar Railway Station and a Municipality in Purbi Singhbhum district of Jharkhand. Jugsalai Notified Area Committee was established on 1924. On 15 of August 1972 it was converted into Jugsalai Nagarpalika. The total area covered under Jugsalai Nagarpalika is 1.29 Sq Km . The boundary of Jugsalai Nagarpalika starts from Kharkai river in the west to Pradeep Mishra chowk in the east and Railway track in the north to BNR Nala in the south. As per census 2011 the population of the Nagarpalika has been recorded as 49660 out of which the female population is 23624 and male is 26036. The Nagarpalika is divided into 14 wards. As per census 2011 the total number of households are 8811. Jugsalai Nagarpalika is mostly known for wholesale market for clothes and groceries.
