Mihijam (Nagar Parishad) is a city in district of Jamtara, Jharkhand. The Mihijam city is divided into 18 wards. The Mihijam Nagar Parishad has population of 40,463 (Class III Town) of which 21,401 are males while 19,062 are females as per report released by Census India 2011. Literacy rate of Mihijam city is 82.96 % higher than state average of 66.41 %. Mihijam Nagar Parishad has total administration over 8,139 houses to which it supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage. It is also authorize to build roads within Nagar Parishad limits and impose taxes on properties coming under its jurisdiction.

Mihijam city is divided by rail line in to two parts.Chittaranjan railway station lies within the city. It is adjacent to West Bengal border. It has undulated topography It is well known for Homeopathy. It has an area of 11.02 Sq.km. The River Ajay is 5km eastern side of the city and on which city thrives for its water supply.
