Introduction
Giridih is an emerging city in the state of Jharkhand. The name of the city Giridih is inspired by the Hills surrounding the place. The city of Giridh was part of Hazaribagh district before the year 1972. The city is home to the famous and prestigious institute known as Indian statistical institute.The city is bestowed with several tourist spots and is a must visit place in Jharkhand. With the passage of time, the city has seen many significant developments in administration, utility services, tourism and infrastructure.
Giridih is located at 24.18°N 86.3°E. It has an average elevation of 289 metres (948 ft). Śrī Sammeta Shikharji also known as the Parasnath Hills, located in Giridih is the highest mountain peak in Jharkhand. It is a conical granite peak located 4,477 feet (1,365 metres) above the sea level.
